Common questions
A little help before liftoff
Which storage location should I choose?
Select the mounted volume shown for your MP3 player, such as /Volumes/X17. You can also select an ordinary folder on your Mac for testing. PodShuttle shows whether it is connected to a device or a folder.
Why is the Eject command unavailable?
Eject is available only for a mounted device at the root of /Volumes. A normal folder does not need to be ejected.
Why can a transfer remain at 100% for a while?
The download may be complete while PodShuttle is still converting, tagging, copying, or verifying the MP3. The transfer status identifies the current phase. Keep the device connected until the transfer reports completion.
What happens when I choose a faster playback speed?
PodShuttle creates a new pitch-preserving MP3 at the selected speed on your Mac, adds ID3 information, and transfers that version to the selected storage location. The publisher's original file is not modified.
Which audio formats are supported?
PodShuttle currently transfers MP3 podcast episodes. Episodes provided only in other audio formats are not shown as transferable.
Does PodShuttle upload my favorites or history?
No. Favorites, history, queue state, device profiles, and preferences stay locally on your Mac. Read the privacy policy for details.
Troubleshooting
If a transfer is not working
These quick checks solve the most common connection and download problems.
- Confirm the device appears in Finder before selecting it in PodShuttle.
- Open Storage and choose the device or folder again if its connection changed.
- Keep the Mac awake and the device connected until copying and verification finish.
- Confirm the destination is writable and has enough free space for the selected episodes.
- If one episode fails, try another episode from the same show to identify a publisher-side issue.
